Season of Sensation: Fall and Fascia

Just as autumn is a time of letting go — trees release their leaves, nature slows down — our fascia holds and then releases tension, patterns, and even emotions.
Autumn is a season of transition, cooling down, preparing for rest.
We notice change in our routines, moods, and bodies.
This is the perfect time to reflect on what our bodies might be holding onto.
What Fascia Is & Why It Matters
Fascia is the connective tissue network that holds us together, influencing posture, movement, and even how we feel.
When fascia becomes restricted, it can create stiffness, discomfort, or that “tight sweater” feeling in the body.
In fall, cooler air + shorter days may make fascia feel stiffer and less pliable.
Seasonal changes = a good time to support fascia health through massage, hydration, mindful movement, and sensory reset.
How fascia work feels: deep, very slow, pushing/pulling, almost like wringing tension out. (should not be painful.)
Try a 15 minute ASMR add-on at the beginning! The textures and rhythm all support fascia’s ability to unwind. Many clients have reported that being able to relax at the beginning of a massage meant they got more out of the massage.
Sensation is key — fascia responds to consistent touch and awareness.
My Personal Recommendations for Fall
-Gentle stretching in the morning when it’s cooler. Don't start a run with cold muscles!
-Using warmth: cozy baths, heated compresses, saunas, or even hot beverages.
-Booking seasonal fascia-focused sessions to “reset” before winter.
-Try to pay attention to areas of the body that could benefit from strength training or yoga. And then do it.
