The sun is starting to peek out, you're climbing out of winter hibernation, and maybe you're eager to move your body again. You might be taking walks, planning your garden, or attending countless spring events like graduations, weddings, first communions, tournaments, award ceremonies, etc. In an instant, you are busy again.

Physical ailments during Spring:
allergies
muscle tension
joint pain
new muscle pain
sports injury
strains and sprains
inflammation
headaches
etc
Spring is a time when many people anxious to get out of the winter funk and embrace a magical time of growth and change. Its a dynamic season that takes us from a harsh cold environment, to a floral wonderland, to sweltering summer heat. Spring is, in my opinion, the most complicated season for our bodies to adjust in. The days are starting to become longer, patio season is starting, and you're suddenly moving your body more.
My recommendation for massage therapy during spring:
Start with Swedish -- Spring massage sessions are a little different from winter. We're not trying as hard to get heat into your body, as much as we're trying to tell your body to let go of winter. Ease your way through this transition. Focus on relaxation and moving gracefully.
Switch to Deep Tissue -- As spring transitions, so should your massage goals. Fitness goals change, outdoor activities increase, and your body is paying the price. Its time to do the work. (remember not to get a massage with a brand new injury.)
Table warmer is recommended, medium to low heat. Its still chilly for the first half of spring, take advantage of the table warmer and let it start the process of relaxing you before the session even begins.
Foot Massage with hot towels. Shoes change during Spring. Boots, trainers, sandals, heels, etc. You know how important foot comfort is, and how it affects other areas of your body, so getting an extra long foot massage is perfect for springtime.
Face/scalp massage add-on -- our faces go through a lot during spring. Allergies, bright sunny days, sneezing, coughing, jaw clenching, to name a few. Deep massage and stretching to the neck and myofascial release to the cheeks and back of the head can be the perfect tools to achieve relief.
Hot & cold to face/neck -- headaches, tmj, sinus issues, etc can all be relieved by the use of hot and cold tandem therapy.
My official recommendation is a 60 minute massage with both the 15 minute foot massage and the 15 minute face massage add-ons.
